Frequently Asked Questions
Do you provide mentorship?
Yes, I do offer mentorship — but think of it more like beekeeping guidance from someone who's been in your shoes. I don’t pretend to know everything (beekeeping is a lifelong learning journey!), but I’ve had plenty of hands-on experience and am always happy to share what I’ve learned along the way.
If you’re just starting out and wondering things like:
-
How do I begin beekeeping?
-
What kind of hive should I get?
-
Where do I even get bees?
-
How do I install a package or a nuc?
-
What should I expect during my first year?
…I can help walk you through it. I also enjoy supporting current beekeepers who just need a second pair of eyes or someone to bounce questions off of. When my schedule allows, I’m available to do hive inspections with fellow beekeepers — it’s always better to open a hive with a buddy, especially when you’re new.
If you're interested, just shoot me a message and we’ll take it from there. Let’s talk bees!
Do you teach classes?
Yes, teaching is one of my favorite parts of what I do at Emerald Hive & Honey!
I offer a variety of beekeeping classes throughout the year, and we’re currently working on adding more to our class catalog. One of our most popular classes is a basic introduction to beekeeping, which includes a hands-on hive tour. In this class, you’ll get to suit up, open a real hive, and see the bees in action while learning the fundamentals of how a colony works. It’s a great way to decide if beekeeping is something you’d like to pursue more seriously.
I also travel to teach custom classes for homeschool groups, classrooms, and community events, tailored to both kids and adults. These sessions can be interactive and educational with a mix of bee biology, pollination science, and hive demonstrations (depending on the location).
If you’re a teacher, event planner, or homeschool parent interested in adding a fun and educational bee experience to your schedule — reach out! I’d love to help.
Do you sell honey?
Yes, we sell honey — and every drop is made with care by our hardworking bees here in Georgia.
To give you some perspective: a single honeybee produces only about 7 drops of honey in her entire lifetime, which lasts just around 42 days. That’s what makes honey so special to us — it’s not just a sweet treat, it’s the product of thousands of bees working together in perfect harmony.
We offer honey in a variety of flavors and sizes, which vary depending on the time of year and the flowers our bees have been foraging on. From light, floral spring batches to rich, darker summer honey, each jar has a unique story.
We sometimes sell specialty infusions or seasonal blends as well — keep an eye on our shop or come visit us at a market to sample what's fresh from the hive!
Do you sell wholesale?
Yes, we’re happy to work with retailers who want to carry Emerald Hive & Honey in their shop or market.
Whether you’re a local grocery store, boutique, cafe, or gift shop, we’d love to chat about how our honey and hive products can fit into your inventory. We offer competitive wholesale pricing, small-batch quality, and a great local story your customers will love.
Send us a message through our contact form with your business info and a little bit about what you're looking for, and we’ll get back to you to discuss the details.
Do you do markets?
We sure do! You can find Emerald Hive & Honey at a variety of local markets across Georgia throughout the year. These events are one of our favorite ways to connect with our community, answer questions, and share the story of our bees directly with you.
At the market booth, you’ll find our full selection of honey (including seasonal favorites), plus other goodies like beeswax candles, infused honeys, and occasionally even pollinator-friendly plants or seeds.
To see where we’ll be next, check out our Instagram or Facebook page — we keep all of our upcoming markets listed under the “Markets” highlight so you never miss a chance to stop by and say hi.
